  1. Document Preparation
  • Legalization and Apostille: Understand the difference between these two based on your country’s agreements with Moldova. This ensures your educational documents are recognized.
  • Translations: Ensure all required documents are accurately translated into Romanian, Russian, or English by a certified translator and, where necessary, notarized.
  1. Financial Preparation

Understanding Fees: before arriving in Moldova the applicant must to be prepared to pay the following taxes:

 Admission Fee

  • 100 Euro or 2,000 Lei (Non-refundable):This is a one-time fee payable at the time of application submission. Since it’s non-refundable, applicants should consider this as a fixed cost of applying, regardless of the admission outcome.

Invitation Fee

  • 15 Euro:This fee is for processing and issuing the invitation necessary for visa applications and other preparatory arrangements for moving to Moldova.
  • Tuition Fees

The tuition fees for Preparatory year: 1000 Euro. This is the cost for graduate-level studies.

Understanding these fees is crucial for budget planning. It’s important to note that these fees do not cover living expenses, such as accommodation, food, transportation, and personal expenditures, nor do they cover additional academic costs (books, materials, possible field trips, etc.) or mandatory health insurance.

Financial Planning Tips:

  • Budget for Living Expenses:In addition to tuition and fees, living expenses in Moldova can vary. Planning for accommodation (if not staying in a university hostel), food, transportation, and other necessities is essential. The mentioned university hostel cost of about 60 Euro per month is an affordable option compared to private accommodation.
  • Consider Health Insurance Costs:The mentioned 650 Euro for medical insurance is a significant amount that needs to be factored into the overall budget.
  • Prepare for Initial and Ongoing Costs:The requirement to have around 4,400 Euro upon arrival, to open a bank account and cover initial costs, underscores the importance of having accessible funds to cover the first few months of living and studying in Moldova.

For international students, having a clear picture of these costs and planning accordingly is crucial to ensuring a smooth transition to studying in Moldova. Always check for the most current and detailed information directly from the university or the Moldovan Ministry of Education and Research, as fees and requirements can change.

  • Budgeting: The estimated initial amount of €4,400 to open a bank account is significant. This likely covers your initial living expenses, including the university hostel, medical insurance, and possibly part of your tuition fees for the next year.
  1. Logistical Steps
  • Criminal Record Check: Ensure you obtain this early, as getting these documents from your home country can take time, especially with the need for legalization/apostille and translation.
  • Health Insurance: This is crucial for your safety and is often a visa requirement. The specified cost should be factored into your initial budget.
  1. Admission Process
  • Online or In-Person Submission: With the option to submit documents electronically or in person, choose the one that’s most feasible for you. Electronic submissions can save time and money.
  • Keep Copies: Always keep copies of every document you submit for your records. This is crucial should there be any disputes or lost documents.
  1. After Submission
  • Follow-Up: After submitting your application, keep in touch with the admissions office to check on your application status and be responsive to any additional requests for information or documentation.
  1. Upon Arrival
